Review of Sheffield’s Short Breaks Statement
Every local authority must publish a “Short Breaks Statement”, setting out the range of services provided, how they are designed to meet the needs of carers in their area, and any criteria used to determine eligibility. There is a duty to keep the statement under review, and to consult with carers when revising it. Sheffield’s Short Breaks Statement has not been reviewed since it was first published in 2011, so this review is long overdue.
At this meeting, parents and local authority officers will look at a draft revised statement, which will be circulated at least a week before the meeting. We will consider whether the statement is easy to understand and whether it contains all of the information parents need.
Booking is essential, as we’ll need your contact details to send you the draft statement before the meeting.
