Workshop: Benefits at 16
This workshop will be run for us by Cerebra.
It is aimed at parents/carers of children aged 13-16 years with neurological and neuro-developmental disorders, such as autism, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, global developmental delay, ADHD, epilepsy or Down’s Syndrome.
The workshop will explain how welfare benefits change when a young person turns 16; for example, the transition from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to Personal Independence Payment (PIP). We will also cover other benefits starting at 16 that parents may not be aware of, such as Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and explain how parents can continue to manage their young person’s benefits through the appointeeship system.
A free lunch will be provided. Booking essential!
