    • We are an independent group of parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with special educational needs and disabilities. Our main aim is to ensure the needs of our children are met. We bring together parent carers from across Sheffield to provide mutual support, exchange information, and influence policy and practice. We have almost 3,000 members.

  • Information session: Neurodiversity and anxiety (15th April)

    • This information session will be delivered by a member of our Peer Support Team. It will consist of a presentation on neurodiversity and anxiety, followed by plenty of time for discussion and peer support around any issues on this subject that parent carers would like help with.

      There is no charge for the session and no diagnosis is required.

    • Are you finding mealtimes difficult? Do you feel that your child or young person has a restricted diet and would like some support on how to help them widen their food choices?

      Join our Peer Support Team to learn more about neurodisability, food and restrictive/avoidant eating. Meet other parents and carers and discuss any issues around this subject that you would like support with.

  • Information session: Introduction to demand-avoidant behaviour ONLINE (18th April)

    • What is demand-avoidant behaviour, how does it differ from PDA. What does it feel like for a young person to experience it.

      This session has been developed in discussion with Ryegate. We will share resources and tools to help you support a young person. There is time for discussion at the end.
