  • Speech and Language subgroup meeting

    • Please join our next subgroup meeting for parents of children and young people with speech, language and communication needs!

      After a successful first meeting, this group will meet every term to feed into an ongoing review of speech and language support for children and young people in Sheffield. We will look at proposals developed by Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group and Sheffield City Council, and give feedback. Please book your place.

  • Safe Space for Black and Brown parent carers

    • We are committed to creating an environment where all parents feel they can share the difficulties they are experiencing as parents of disabled children and young people. We acknowledge that some parents from Black and Asian Minority Ethnic communities may not feel confident about attending our typical meetings. Therefore, we are running a monthly session chaired by our trustee Melissa and our volunteer Thaeeba.

  • Education subgroup meeting (with Autism Team)

    • Please join our Education subgroup to talk to other parents about special educational needs, swap useful information, and help us influence education policy in Sheffield. This is a friendly and informal group, and new members are always welcome. No specialist knowledge required – being a parent is enough!

      We’ll be joined by Laura Chambers, the new leader of the Autism Team, for the first hour of the meeting.

    • This group is for parents of young people aged 14-25 years with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The meeting will be attended by officers from the Preparing for Adulthood Team in social care. We are a friendly group and there will be time to chat and swap information with other parents.
