• Due to the pandemic, waiting times for autism assessments have increased significantly and there are now over 1,000 children on the waiting list.

  Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Sheffield City Council are working together to contact all families on the waiting list to offer them support while they are waiting for the assessment.

  They have also published useful resources for families here.

  The resources cover topics like sleep difficulties, challenging behaviour, emotional wellbeing, sensory issues, going back to school, COVID-19 and the assessment process itself.
