After a busy few months recruiting and onboarding new volunteers to support SPCF, we’re excited to continue growing our volunteer team. Do you have some spare time to help, or know someone who might be interested? Volunteering is a great way to support parent carers to build new skills, enhance your CV, and connect with others, all while helping us fulfil our mission to connect, inform and empower.
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
Community Outreach Volunteer
Help raise awareness of SPCF by identifying local venues to display materials, support distribution and represent us at events such as school fairs. Confidence in engaging with the public and sharing accurate information is key.Peer Support Volunteer
Support our coffee mornings and information sessions by welcoming families, assisting staff, and offering a friendly, listening ear. This role is ideal for parent carers who can provide understanding and reassurance to others.‘Talk and Chalk’ Dad’s Group Volunteer
Are you a dad or male carer of a child or young person with SEND? ‘Talk and Chalk’ is a relaxed space where dads and male carers can chat, play pool or snooker, and connect over a warm drink. We’re looking for a friendly, compassionate volunteer to help facilitate sessions, support attendees, and provide a listening ear as the group grows.Training Support Volunteer
Are you passionate about improving understanding of autism and ADHD? As a Training Support Volunteer, you’ll help deliver engaging sessions to professionals by preparing materials, supporting activities, and creating a welcoming learning environment. This is a great role for someone who loves working with people and wants to help drive real change in how neurodiversity is understood and supported.Coming soon: Volunteer interpreters
We are currently developing a new role description for volunteer interpreters and hope to launch this volunteering opportunity soon. We will be looking for people who speak a wide variety of languages to help us communicate information to the families we support, making our information and support more accessible. If you speak another language and would be interested in volunteering with us, we’d love to hear from you.If you’re interested in volunteering with us, you can find more details on our website here: or email our Volunteer Coordinator, Amy, at volunteering@sheffieldparentcarerforum.org.uk for an informal chat about any of the roles.
