The guide is for parents of young people aged 13+. It takes you through the different steps in your child’s transition to adulthood, and covers education, health and social care services, benefits, housing, leisure and more.
You will need to read a draft of the guide before attending this session. Participants will receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher as a thank you. Booking essential.

Meeting about overnight respite
-
-
-
There have been repeated closures of respite centres for children with disabilities in Sheffield, to accommodate emergency placements. Many families have also seen an overall reduction in the overnight respite provision they receive. We have arranged a meeting with senior officers in Sheffield City Council to discuss the impact on families and find out what the Council are doing to address these issues.
If you’d like to attend, please click on “Book now” to register. We will then send you a meeting link.
If you are unable to attend, please feel free to send us your comments or questions by email, to enquiries@sheffieldparentcarerforum.org.uk

School support for children with sensory processing difficulties (full)
-
-
-
*** This event is now fully booked. ***
OT/Physio team leader Jenny Featherstone wants to meet with parents to get feedback on a sensory toolkit she has developed for schools. The toolkit will help schools become more “sensory friendly” and address the sensory needs of individual children.
This meeting is an opportunity to find out about the toolkit and give feedback. Your views are important, because they will help to shape the future development of the toolkit and potentially its roll out across the city. Jenny will also explain how this links in with the Parent Sensory Workshops at Ryegate and further development of that service. Please book your place.
Please note: It will NOT be possible to discuss individual children or address specific grievances at this meeting.
