    • We want to hear what parents think about the support provided by SSENDIAS – what’s working well, and what could be improved.

      Please attend this VIRTUAL meeting and talk about your experiences. We welcome parents who have used SSENDIAS in the past, as well as those who haven’t yet accessed the service and just want to find out more. Your feedback will be used for service planning and improvement.

  • Focus Group: Short Breaks (July)

    • Are you a parent or carer of a child with a disability in Sheffield?
      Sheffield City Council are looking for parents and carers to help improve their short break services. Please come along to this meeting if you have had experience of short breaks (such as SNIPS clubs, Direct Payments or the Short Break Grant) or are interested in learning more and sharing your experiences of caring with a child with a disability. You will receive a £15 SHOPPING VOUCHER as a thank you!

  • Focus group: Transition to adult social care

    • Is your young person currently moving from children’s to adult social care, or have they recently made this transition?

      The Council’s Adult Social Care Service is developing a new policy for young people with disabilities moving into adulthood. Whilst it will not solve every problem, they hope that the new policy will improve things for those young people and their families.

      They want to hear about the issues that families have experienced in recent times – what worked well and what worked less well. Please come along to this meeting and talk about your experiences. Booking essential.

  • Focus Group: Transition from primary to secondary school (May)

    • Is your child moving from primary to secondary school in September? This meeting is a chance to talk through your hopes and fears and get ideas, strategies and resources to support your child’s transition.

      We’ll be joined by a worker from SSENDIAS and one of our own Autism in Schools project workers, who will be able to offer lots of useful information and advice.

  • Focus group: Housing

    • Sheffield City Council Adult Social Care is developing an Accommodation Plan, for housing for people who will require support. As part of writing this plan, they would like to talk to young people with disabilities and their parents about the sort of housing they will need in the future.

    • This ONLINE session is for parents/carers of children aged 0-12 years with autism and/or ADHD, and the professionals who work with them.

      We’re developing Neurodisability training for professionals and want this to reflect your experiences of referrals, communication between families and services, and accessing information and support.
