Half-term activities for disabled youngsters

With the wet and windy set to continue into March, you might be wondering how to keep the kids entertained this half term. We’ve pulled together a list of free or low-cost activities aimed at children and young people with disabilities or additional needs.

Monday 24 February
Leisure Time at the Pavilion
Hillsborough Park Pavilion, 10.30am – 12.30pm, cost £2

Organised by Shirecliffe Community Forum and Reach Out Childcare. The aim of the event is to gather views from parents and children with additional needs about a proposal to set up a new short breaks service at the Centre. Ponds Forge, 5.45pm – 7.15pm, cost £2

Family Woodland Camp
Woodland site near Dore, 14-18 April, FREE (£5 deposit per day)
Social Forestry are running a Woodland Camp for all members of the family, including those with learning difficulties and autism. Come for one or two days, or for the whole week. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Please click here to download a flyer.
