Results of parent carer support survey published

28th October 2013

  • Earlier this year, Sheffield City Council had asked us to help them find out whether current support services for parents of disabled children were meeting local needs. We gathered parents’ views through a combination of questionnaires (139 responses) and consultation workshops (21 participants). Please click here to download the consultation report. Use these links to download the appendices: A&B, C, D, E.

Workshop participants raised a number of issues in relation to specific services (e.g. SNIPS, Direct Payments, childcare, respite) and made suggestions for improvement. Whilst some of this feedback extended beyond the remit of the consultation, it is nevertheless very important. We have fed it back to the Council’s senior leadership team. You can download a summary of the comments here.

The Sheffield Parent Carer Forum’s Management Committee has published a document outlining their comments and recommendations in relation to the consultation. Please click here to download it.

We will shortly publish a response from Sheffield City Council on this website.
